Ron Paul Slams “Out Of Control Police State” After Rand Paul Detained By TSA

Congressman renews his call to abolish agency that “gropes and grabs” Americans

GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement on his campaign website this afternoon, following his son Rand’s treatment at the hands of the TSA in Nashville.

“The police state in this country is growing out of control.  One of the ultimate embodiments of this is the TSA that gropes and grabs our children, our seniors, and our loved ones and neighbors with disabilities.  The TSA does all of this while doing nothing to keep us safe.

“That is why my ‘Plan to Restore America,’ in additional to cutting $1 trillion dollars in federal spending in one year, eliminates the TSA.

“We must restore the freedom and respect for liberty that once made American the greatest nation in human history.  I am deeply committed to doing that as President of the United States.”

The website also posted a picture of Senator Rand Paul talking to reporters following the incident with the TSA:

Congressman Paul has been a long time critic of the TSA. In 2010 he introduced into the House the “American Traveler Dignity Act,” which would remove TSA agents’ immunity from prosecution for implementing invasive pat-down procedures. Paul re-introduced the legislation in the summer.

Israeli-Saudi Cyberwar Heats Up

Last week the Insider Report disclosed that an Israeli teenager identified only as “OxOmer” launched a cyberwar counterattack against Saudi hackers who divulged tens of thousands of Israeli credit card numbers on the Internet.

Now the Saudi hackers have struck again, attacking the websites of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and El Al Israel Airlines.

And once again OxOmer has retaliated, bringing down the official websites of Saudi Arabia’s Monetary Agency and Abu Dhabi’s Securities Exchange on Tuesday.

In the new attacks on Israel, “what was hacked was our main website, which provides information,” Idit Yaaron, a Tel Aviv Stock Exchange spokeswoman, said on Monday. “The trading computer was not hacked and trading is going on as usual.”

El Al issued a statement saying it was taking measures to protect its website and warned there may be more disruptions.

OxOmer claims he is 17 years old and belongs to a four-member team of hackers who call themselves Israel Defenders. In the earlier counterattack, they published hundreds of Saudi credit card numbers. They told the Jerusalem Post they were also behind the new attacks on the Saudi and Abu Dhabi sites.

They said in a message on a forum that their actions came “because lame hackers from Saudi Arabia decided to launch an attack against Israeli sites.”

The cyberwar shows no signs of ending. The Saudi hacker who calls himself OxOmar told the Post he would continue to organize attacks on Israeli sites until the government apologized for what he called “genocide against Palestine.”

And Israeli hacker OxOmer warned: “If the lame attacks from Saudi Arabia will continue, we will move to the next level, which will disable these sites longer term.”

Also on Monday, a pro-Israeli hacker named Hannibal opened up another front in the cyberwar, publishing the details of 30,000 Facebook account holders from Arab countries, and threatening to publish information about bank accounts and credit cards belonging to Arab citizens if the attacks on Israeli sites continue.

Then on Wednesday, Arab hackers broke into the server of Israel’s Anti-Drug Authority and redirected visitors to a website showing images of Palestinian gunmen and the words “death to Israel” and “Gaza hackers were here.”

A group of Israeli hackers calling themselves the “IDF Team” retaliated on Thursday by disabling the websites of the Arab Bank of Palestine and the UAE’s central bank, the Post reported.

The Israeli hackers threatened to “disable stock market sites, government sites, and sites related to economy and even security.”

The cyberwar continues.

Weiner’s Pension Worth a Whopping $1.2 Million

Friday, 17 Jun 2011 12:20 PM

By Martin Gould

With a career in tatters and a pregnant wife, most people would be facing a financial crisis, but Anthony Weiner still has his pension to fall back on — and it’s a pension the rest of America would love.

Weiner, pension, 1.2 millionAfter just 12 years in Congress, Weiner’s benefits add up to $1.2 million, reports The Wall Street Journal, and he doesn’t have to worry if the Stock Market keeps dropping.

Weiner was on the standard congressional salary of $174,000 before announcing his resignation on Thursday, three weeks into his humiliating Twitter sexting scandal. He was covered under the Federal Employee Retirement System, to which he contributed less than 1 percent of his pay.

The Journal’s Smart Money section says the 46-year-old New York congressman has two choices. He could take discounted payments of around $25,000 a year starting when he turns 56 in 2020 or he could wait another six years and get around $35,000 a year.

The National Taxpayers Union came up with even higher figures as it took into account Weiner’s time as a congressional staffer to then-Rep. Charles Schumer in the 1980s and early ’90s. It says he would get $32,356 at 56 and $46,224 if he waited. Taxpayers Union Executive Vice President Pete Sepp told Newsmax that those figures are based on Weiner’s making the highest contributions throughout his congressional career.

“For American taxpayers, the scandal may have only just begun,” said Sepp, who pointed out that even legislation Republican Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois introduced this week to expand the number of crimes that would debar members of Congress from receiving their pensions would not catch Weiner.

Weiner would have been contributing less than $200 a month to his pension, Sepp said.

The Journal compares Weiner’s $1.2 million figure with a private-sector employee who put $1,000 a month into a 401(k) plan and received a $3,000 matching contribution from his employer over the same period. Even if the stock market does well, he could expect to have only $231,000, less than a fifth of what Weiner is entitled to.

Making it more one-sided, any inflation would eat into the private-sector pension, while Weiner’s and others under the federal system adjust automatically to cost-of-living increases.

The Journal also points out that Weiner also has a stock portfolio worth approximately $300,000 and a pension due from his six-year stint on New York City Council.

“The point here isn’t that politicians don’t deserve decent retirement plans. The last thing America needs is financially insecure lawmakers,” the Journal reports. “But Weiner is getting the equivalent of a $1.3 million exit payment after serving just 12 years on the job.

“Now that’s worth tweeting about.”

Where are you Mr. President? When America Needs You?

As I fly the Flag at half Staff in honor of those lost this week, I want you the reader to say a prayer for our fallen Troops, and for our fallen American brothers and sisters which were the victims of crazy storms that have rampaged  Americas Southern States for the past 2 weeks, over 80 people or very close to it have perished. And to make it all worse and remind the People that they are all important only if they are from Libya, President Obama did what every great loving American President would do, he went to Chicago for a taping with Oprah. As he put it this morning in his News Conference, “Can not be distracted by carnival screamers , need to focus on the real issues.”, meanwhile not one comment on the storm victims, not one condolences to the family’s that lost their loved ones, Why is that? Today Obama attended the taping of Oprah’s show, tonight he went for a fund-raising Dinner; meanwhile 5 States were under High tornado alert tonight!   Where is the comforting words of our Supreme  Leader? Where is the Federal Help? Why the White House is Silent? Where are you Mr.President?

At Least 72 Dead as Storms Pound South for Second Day

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  A wave of tornado-spawning storms strafed the South on Wednesday, splintering buildings across hard-hit Alabama and killing 72 people in four states.

At least 58 people died in Alabama alone, including 15 or more when a massive tornado devastated Tuscaloosa. The city’s mayor said sections of the city that’s home to the University of Alabama have been destroyed and the city’s infrastructure is devastated.

Eleven deaths were reported in Mississippi, two in Georgia and one in Tennessee.

News footage showed paramedics lifting a child out of a flattened Tuscaloosa home, with many neighboring buildings in the city of more than 83,000 also reduced to rubble. A hospital there said its emergency room had admitted at least 100 people.

“What we faced today was massive damage on a scale we have not seen in Tuscaloosa in quite some time,” Mayor Walter Maddox told reporters, adding that he expected his city’s death toll to rise.

Severe Storms Strike Mississippi

The storm system spread destruction Tuesday night and Wednesday from Texas to Georgia, and it was forecast to hit the Carolinas next and then move further northeast.

Around Tuscaloosa, traffic was snarled Wednesday night by downed trees and power lines, and some drivers abandoned their cars in medians. University officials said there didn’t appear to be significant damage on campus, and it was using its student recreation center as a shelter.

Maddox said authorities were having trouble communicating, and 1,400 National Guard soldiers were being deployed around the state.

Brian Sanders, the manager of an oil change shop, brought his daughters to DCH Regional Medical Center because he felt they’d be safe there. He said his business had been leveled.

“I can’t believe we walked away,” he said.

Storms struck Birmingham earlier in the day, felling numerous trees that impeded emergency responders and those trying to leave hard-hit areas. Surrounding Jefferson County reported 11 deaths by late Wednesday; another hard-hit area was Walker County with eight deaths. The rest of the deaths were scattered around the state, emergency officials said.

Austin Ransdell and a friend had to hike out of their neighborhood south of Birmingham after the house where he was living was crushed by four trees. No one was hurt.

As he walked away from the wreckage, trees and power lines crisscrossed residential streets, and police cars and utility trucks blocked a main highway.

“The house was destroyed. We couldn’t stay in it. Water pipes broke; it was flooding the basement,” he said. “We had people coming in telling us another storm was coming in about four or five hours, so we just packed up.”

Not far away, Craig Branch was stunned by the damage.

“Every street to get into our general subdivision was blocked off. Power lines are down; trees are all over the road. I’ve never seen anything like that before,” he said

In Huntsville, meteorologists found themselves in the path of tornado and had to evacuate the National Weather Service office.

In Choctaw County, Miss., a Louisiana police officer was killed Wednesday morning when a towering sweetgum tree fell onto his tent as he shielded his young daughter with his body, said Kim Korthuis, a supervisor with the National Park Service. The girl wasn’t hurt.

The 9-year-old girl was brought to a motorhome about 100 feet away where campsite volunteer Greg Maier was staying with his wife, Maier said. He went back to check on the father and found him dead.

“She wasn’t hurt, just scared and soaking wet,” Maier said.

Her father, Lt. Wade Sharp, had been with the Covington Police Department for 19 years.

“He was a hell of an investigator,” said Capt. Jack West, his colleague in Louisiana.

Also in Mississippi, a man was crushed in his mobile home when a tree fell during the storm, a truck driver died after hitting a downed tree on a state highway and a member of a county road crew was killed when he was struck by a tree they were removing.

By late Wednesday, the death toll had increased to 11 for the day, said Mississippi Emergency Management Association spokesman Jeff Rent. The governor also made an emergency declaration for much of the state.

Storms also killed two people in Georgia and one in Tennessee on Wednesday. Aside from the 39 deaths on Wednesday, one person was killed by the same storm system late the previous night in Arkansas.

In eastern Tennessee, a woman was killed by falling trees in her trailer in Chattanooga. Just outside the city in Tiftonia, what appeared to be a tornado also struck at the base of the tourist peak Lookout Mountain.

Tops were snapped off trees and insulation and metal roof panels littered the ground. Police officers walked down the street, spray-painting symbols on houses they had checked for people who might be inside.

Mary Ann Bowman, 42, stood watching from her driveway as huge tractors moved downed trees in the street. She had rushed home from work to find windows shattered at her house, and her grandmother’s house next door shredded. The 91-year-old woman wasn’t home at the time.

“When I pulled up I just started crying,” Bowman said.

Many around the region were happy to survive unscathed even if their houses didn’t. In Choctaw County, Miss., 31-year-old Melanie Cade patched holes in her roof after it was heavily damaged overnight.

Cade was in bed with her three children when the storm hit.

“The room lit up, even though the power was out. Stuff was blowing into the house, like leaves and bark. Rain was coming in sideways,” she said, adding that they managed to scurry into a bathroom.

“I didn’t care what happened to the house,” Cade said. “I was just glad we got out of there.”

GCIS INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING: Middle East expert warns against illusion of ‘moderate’ Islamists (via GCIS Briefing Room)

Starting around 1960’s American culture was turned away from God, by drugs and free love, and sex. Since then America is been taught to tolerate everyone and everything, accept all things as long as it does not have to do with God, Jesus and Christianity. America has a President which has embraced Islam and its Agents more than any president in the history of this nation. Time to extend a hand to Islam is over, for one might not get his hand back and might even loose an arm.

French burka ban: police arrest two veiled women

French police arrested two veiled women this morning just hours after the country’s new ban on wearing the burka in public came into force.

By Peter Allen, in Paris 11:03AM BST 11 Apr 2011

The women were arrested along with several other people protesting in front of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris against the new law.

Jourrnalists at the scene said the arrests came after police moved in to break up the protest which had not been authorised.

On Saturday police arrested 59 people, including 19 veiled women, who turned up for a banned protest in Paris against the draconian new law, the first of its kind to be enforced in Europe.

Earlier, French police said they will be enforcing the country’s new burka ban “extremely cautiously” because of fears of provoking violence.

They fear Muslims extremists will use the law to provoke fights with officers, while rich visitors from countries like Saudi Arabia will also cause trouble .

All garments which cover the face were officially banned from first thing this morning, with offenders facing fines of 150 euros (£133).

But police admitted that they feared being accused of discrimination against Muslims, whether approaching women in tinderbox housing projects or on the Champs Elysee.

“The law will be very difficult to apply on certain estates,” said Patrice Ribeiro, of the Synergie police union.

Referring to two Paris suburbs where riots regularly break out because of alleged discrimination against Muslims, Mr Ribeiro said: “I can’t see police going to book dozens of veiled women doing their shopping in Venissieux or in Trappes.

“It will be the same when a police officer is about to arrest a veiled Saudi who is about to go into Louis Vuitton on the Champs Elysees. In all cases, the forces of order will have to be measured and cautious in their behaviour.”

Synergie has already instructed its members to view the ban as a “low priority”, and Mr Ribeiro said there would “inevitably be incidents”.

Mohamed Douhane, another Paris police officer and Synergie member, said he and his colleagues also “expected provocation by a minority.”

Mr Douhane added: “Fundamentalist movements are eager to raise the stakes. The police know they will be held responsible for any public order disturbances.”

Police have already been warned not to arrest women “in or around” mosques, and “citizen’s de-veilings” are also banned.

The strict instructions, from Interior Minister Claude Guent, are contained in a nine page circular issued to officers.

With tensions running high within the country’s six million strong Muslim community, officers have been told to look out for members of the public taking the law into their own hands.

Instead they will have to call the police, who will in turn have four hours to consider whether an offender should be fined.

This will apply to all garments which cover the eyes, although scarfs, hats, and sunglasses are excluded.

As well as a mosque, Muslims will also be able to put on a veil in the privacy of their own homes, a hotel room, or even a car, as long as they are not driving.

Police have already complained that they will have to waste time on “burka-chasing”, with Denis Jacob, of the Alliance police union, adding: “We have more important matters to be dealing with.”

The ban means France is officially the second country in Europe, after Belgium, to introduce a full ban on a garment which immigration minister Eric Besson has called a “walking coffin”.

While French women face the fines and ‘civic duty’ guidance if they break the law, men who force their wives or daughters to wear burkas will face up to a year in prison, and fines of up to 25,000 pounds.

Posters have already gone up in town halls across France reading: “The Republic lives with its face uncovered.”

Belgium introduced a full ban last year, although it has not been enforced with any vigour. A ban also looks likely in Holland, Spain and Switzerland.

There are no plans to introduce a similar ban in Britain, although politicians from the UK Independence Party and some Tory backbenchers have suggested one.
