Another Jihadist Leader Living Freely in Pakistan

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 01:29 PM PDT

While Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbotabad may or may not have been known to Pakistan’s senior leadership, it is apparent that at least some in the country realized it. Now we have the leader of another very deadly jihadist group living openly in Pakistan.

Fazle-ur-Rahman Khalil is the leader of the Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen, which was allied to al Qaeda. Khalil was a trusted confidant of bin Laden and signed the fatwa against the United States in the 1990s. Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen was and is an international group, with its jihadists ending up in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and Somalia. Khalil is living openly in Pakistan, where even the US press knows about it.

Because of HuM’s goal of ‘liberating’ Kashmir from India, it may be getting a pass from the government:

Like most of the militant groups that get a wink and a nod from Pakistan’s security agencies, Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen’s primary focus is Kashmir, a picturesque region divided between India and Pakistan and claimed by each in its entirety. Kashmir has been the cause of two of three wars between the South Asian neighbors and brought them perilously close to a nuclear confrontation in 2000.

Khalil’s group has kidnapped foreigners in Indian Kashmir, killing one. His group also helped in the 1999 hijacking of an Indian airlines plane that resulted in the release of three militants, including Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, who is now on death row for his part in the 2002 killing of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Further, they have ties with some very nasty people:

Khalil’s militant ties include the anti-Indian Lashkar-e-Taiba group, blamed for masterminding the November 2008 assault on Mumbai that killed 166 people. The AP learned from the same official that seven training camps are operating in Pakistani Kashmir and most of them are run by Jamaat-ud-Dawwa, the name Lashkar-e-Taiba took after being banned.

When will the Pakistanis get serious, if ever?

Gov. Christie: ‘None of Your Business’ Where I Send My Kids to School

Tuesday, June 21, 2011
By Susan Jones

( – Known for his blunt talk, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie did not disappoint last Thursday when a woman on a public affairs TV show tried to make the governor look bad for sending his children to private school.

“You don’t send your children to public schools you send them to private schools, so I was wondering why you think it’s fair to be cutting school funding to public schools,” the woman asked.

“What’s her name?” the governor asked the host of New Jersey’s public television show, “On the Line.”

“Hey, Gail, you know what, first off, it’s none of your business,” Christie shot back. “I don’t ask you where you send your kids to school, don’t bother me about where I send mine.

“Secondly, I pay $38,000 a year in property taxes for a public school system predominantly in Mendham, that my wife and I don’t choose to utilize, because we believe — we’ve decided, as parents, that we believe a religious education should be part of our children’s everyday education, so we send our children to parochial school.

“Third, I as governor am responsible for every child in this state, not just my own, and the decisions that I make are to try to improve the education opportunities of every child in this state.

“So with all due respect, Gail, it’s none of your business,” Christie concluded as the show ended.

World Threats

This from the Chosun Ilbo.

The rogue state will continue experimenting with intercontinental ballistic missiles that put the U.S. within striking distance until it succeeds in 2012, said Larry Niksch, a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. (…) Niksch said that if Pyongyang secures the appropriate technology, it will never abandon its nuclear program, thereby rendering the six-party talks aimed at denuclearizing the country ineffective. He said the U.S. needs to fundamentally rework its policies regarding the North’s nuclear weapons programs in order to make progress.

Please read the entire article for more information.

Analysis. The Kim family wants the same thing that they have always wanted: a guarantee of existence for North Korea. Absent a peace treaty that makes the division of Korea permanent, the North will continue its drive to insure its permanence through nuclear means. It will then use its nuclear capability to blackmail South Korea and the United States into supporting it. We must prevent North Korea from obtaining the ability to blackmail us.

The other point to remember is that a North Korean nuclear capability implies an Iranian nuclear capability. While North Korea is most likely not suicidal, the same cannot be said for the mullahocracy running Iran. North Korea is simply a feudal state with Communism as the theoretical justification for the feudalism. Iran is a state run by religious zealots whose goal is to bring forth the Mahdi (Twelfth or Hidden Imam) through causing the chaos necessary to bring the Mahdi forth.

Can You Find “FAMILY VALUES” in America Today?

Can You Find “FAMILY VALUES” in American homes today, and you do not have to look far, Just look withing the four walls you are sitting and reading this sentence !

Lillian Baker Wolff

Somebody has said that a cynic is somebody who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. Is it possible that we live in a cynical age? There are many who do not know and appreciate family values. They don’t treasure their family. They mock at the Father’s counsel and say that the Mother is an old foggie. Ever heard those words?

Satan has put out an all-out assault on the home and especially on the head of the home…the Father. Listen to me please, gentlemen. The devil’s goal is to mastermind the home and destroy it. He will start with you. It is sickening the number of children who are being raised in a single-parent home. The father is absent and often is nowhere to be found, leaving the mother alone to raise and support the children. This was not God’s plan at all when He founded the home. Actually the home is the basic unit of society.

We must remember that God established the home before the government, before the school and even before the church. As the home goes, so does society, as well as our nation. The home is the basic unit, established by God with one man, the husband, and one woman, the wife, and their children. We live in a day when anything goes and it is not necessary to be married in order to live together and produce children. It is my opinion that this means that there is no real commitment, or it is just a temporary commitment. Nothing is permanent or lasting. Marriage and the home have lost their value to some.

Then there are others who walk away from their commitment of marriage, having found what they thought was a better deal. But remember that sometimes what looks like a better deal can become an ordeal, especially when the deal was made outside the will of God. God says that He hates divorce. Regardless of who is responsible it is ugly and brings shame and hurt to so many. It has a lasting effect on the values of the home and the children and grandchildren.

Hollywood and television are doing a lot to undermine the family values. In yester- years, the films were based around the home, such as Ozzie and Harriet, Leave It To Beaver, Little House on the Prairie, or Father Knows Best. Many feel that Father Knows Nothing and they can live their lives being rebellious and “doing their own thing”. Pardon me if I reminisce at bit, but it was possible to sit down with the family and watch a wholesome show without dirty words and you didn’t have to worry about the morals of people, who like ally cats were jumping in and out of bed with anyone that came along. What an effect this has on young, formative minds. Where have our values gone? Parents, it is our responsibility to see that good morals are taught and watched over in the home. Not only taught, but lived. Father, you are the responsible party, along with your wife. Children are allowed to watch anything without any parental restrictions. Teens can fill their minds with anything and everything that is on the big screen. God gave parents so that they could guide their children in the right way. The Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Pawlenty’s ‘Common Sense”:Turn to God, Protect Unborn

Saturday, 04 Jun 2011 10:10 AM

WASHINGTON — A gathering of religious conservatives drew nearly all the GOP presidential hopefuls to a single stage, a claim that a South Carolina debate and a well-publicized forum in New H

ampshire couldn’t make about their recent events.

The Faith and Freedom Coalition’s two-day conference proved that the religious right still plays a major role in the nominating process, even if it’s less organized than during the Christian Coalition‘s heyday and economic issues are dominating the early campaign.

The gathering was a tryout for candidates hoping to fill a void left by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. The Southern Baptist minister won the 2008 Iowa caucus but is not running this time.

Most of the candidates spent more time on money issues than on spiritual matters on the opening day of the conference Friday. But they generally portrayed the federal debt and healthcare policies as moral concerns.

They also paid tribute to reli

gious conservatives who often place abortion, gay marriage and other social issues ahead of questions such as taxes and spending.

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman bypassed a large scrum of journalists but did give an interview to the Christian-oriented CBN network.

“I do not believe the Republican Party should focus solely on our economic life to the neglect of our human life,” Huntsman told the conference audience of several hundred after citing numerous anti-abortion laws he signed as governor.

Huntsman and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney are Mormons, a group eyed suspiciously by some Christian conservatives. They did not directly mention Mormonism in their remarks.

The Republican contenders who seem to be making the most direct appeals to evangelical voters are former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who declined an invitation to the conference.

Pawlenty, a Catholic-turned-Protestant evangelical, opened and closed his remarks with biblical quotes. His said his top four “common sense principles” for the nation are to turn toward God, protect the unborn, support traditional marriage and keep Americans secure.

Bachmann, inching toward a presidential bid, reminded the audience that she home-schooled her five children and served as foster mother to 23 others. She said “marriage is under siege” in America and she ended with a prayer that asked a blessing for President Barack Obama, whom she had sharply criticized moments earlier.

Romney, seen as the Republicans’ early front-runner, may have the toughest task in wooing religious conservatives. As a Senate candidate and one-term governor in Massachusetts, he supported legalized abortion, gay rights and gun control.

Romney has reversed his stands on those positions. Since speakers didn’t take audience questions at the event, he had an easier time than he will in other settings.

He cited “our belief in the sanctity of human life,” and said marriage should apply to “one man and one woman.” Romney blamed Obama for the nation’s high unemployment. Job losses can push marriages to the breaking point, he said, calling it “a moral crisis.”

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas mixed quotes from the Bible’s first book of Samuel with his familiar libertarian proposals, such as returning to the gold standard.

All these lines got applause. Still, a sense of unease sometimes hung over the event. Organizers acknowledged that some religious conservatives are not happy with the heavy emphasis on economic matters these days.

The audience members sat silently when Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour urged them to embrace the eventual nominee despite the certainty that they will disagree with him or her on some issues.

“Purity is the enemy of victory,” said Barbour, who has decided against his own presidential bid.
