Nikki Haley shows the establishment still doesn’t get it
One would think Nikki Haley, being a governor and closer to the people of a state in which Donald Trump is trouncing his establishment-backed opposition, would understand what’s driving the animus the people have for establishment candidates. But the doublespeak and argle-bargle that emanated from the mouth of the new establishment queen bee indicate she and the establishment class still don’t get it … or, more likely, don’t care.
Trump’s message is simple, and it’s resonating with the people. Build a wall. No amnesty. Halt illegal immigration and put the brakes on legal immigration. Put the American worker first. Halt the importation of unvetted (and unvetable) “refugees.” Keep America safe.
But the establishment cares not a whit that their policies to import more legal aliens and incentivize illegal immigration are driving Americans out of work and into the poorhouse. That’s because the establishment does the wishes of the crony corporate class, i.e., their paymasters. And the crony corporate class wants a broad worker pool from which to select employees who are content with slave wages.
Haley took shots at Trump by setting up straw men and knocking them down.
“No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country,” she said, in remarks vetted by the establishment and aimed at Trump. But Trump has not said this. Nor have the vast majority of conservative voters looking to curtail the invasion that is — by design — transforming this country.
And illegal aliens, by definition, aren’t abiding “by our laws” and loving “our traditions.” They are breaking our laws and flouting our traditions.
The GOP establishment continued its efforts to derail Trump by attempting to shame the average voter away from him with more propaganda on Thursday. An article in Yahoo News, had this to say:
Party leaders have made it clear they are worried about Trump’s impact in November, not just on the presidential election but crucial congressional races.
They see Trump as unable to unite conservatives and moderates enough to help Republicans keep control of both chambers of Congress.
Americans — Republicans, Democrats and Independents — want illegal immigration stopped and legal immigration — especially of so-called “refugees” — curtailed. Only Trump, and to a lesser extent Ted Cruz, have indicated a determination protect America from the illegal invasion. That’s why they are No. 1 and No. 2 in most polls.
