Here’s a guest blog post from a longtime volunteer, tireless supporter and one of our Scarves for Troops Project coordinators, Lorene Van Ark-Miller:

A group of ladies meet at a friend’s home to support our troops. It’s like a party, meeting old friends and making new ones as we enjoy refreshments and good company.

A lot goes on – it’s definitely a WORK party to get things done to help fill the boxes that are sent by Operation Gratitudeto our troops to put a smile on their facesand let them know that we are thinking about them here at home.

Things we do: knit/crochet scarves, write letters of thanks, make cards for them to send home, collect Beanie Babies, fold newspaper comics to send, sew cool-ties, and make paracord “Survival” bracelets. It’s FUN!
